Fjörbók is a personal record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Calorie and nutrition figures, and anything an AI assistant tells you through Fjörbók, are estimates and may be inaccurate.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your health, and never disregard or delay professional advice because of something you read here. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record and for any decision to share your information with a doctor or anyone else.
This policy explains what Hotbed Media (“we,” “us”) collects when you use Fjörbók, why, and the choices you have. We keep it plain on purpose.
Notes you add may include health or medical information, which is sensitive. We store it only to provide the service to you, we never sell it, and we never use it for advertising. It stays isolated to your account. You decide what to record and whether to share it with anyone.
Fjörbók can be connected to a third-party AI assistant (for example, Claude) using a key you generate. When you use that assistant with Fjörbók, the data it reads or writes is sent to and processed by that assistant’s provider, under their privacy terms, not ours. Connecting an assistant is your choice, and you can revoke a key at any time from the Connect page.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
We use a small set of service providers to operate Fjörbók:
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Each account’s records are isolated by row-level security, so one user cannot read another’s data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We keep your data until you delete it or ask us to close your account. You can remove individual entries and notes yourself at any time. To export or permanently delete your account and its data, email us at info@hotbed.com and we will act on your request.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact info@hotbed.com.
We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Fjörbók is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
